Mariela Destéfano PhD

Born and raised in the city of Buenos Aires, I received my BA in 2006 and my PhD in 2012 from the University of Buenos Aires, both in philosophy. Since 2008 I have been part of the philosophy department at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2019 I was promoted to associate researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council. 

Through the years philosophy of mind and cognitive science became my areas of specialization and I discussed its core reading at the Buenos Aires Philosophy of Cognitive Science Research Group. I am grateful to its members for their insightful discussion and comments to my work. Thanks to their valuable guidance I was able to win a research stimulus award (“El lenguaje y la tesis de la autonomía” / “Language and the autonomy thesis”, granted by the Argentine Society for Philosophical Analysis 2005)
